An evening in the Corn Maze

Here we are at the local corn maze just down the road from us. The owners grow the corn specifically for the maze & change it every year. It's usually only open on the weekends but we were able to go with Colby's Cub Scout group where they opened it up on a Friday night. So there were only about 25 people in the entire area.

The owners set up a game where you choose a piece of paper with a letter on it and throughout the maze, you have to find the 9 signs with a word on it that matches the letter you chose. Only 6 signs have words with your letter. If you find all six words, they place your paper in a drawing for a $100 savings bond.

Gracie led Jim and I around to find the signs for our letters. Jake, C, Brittany & Josh went their own way and we ran into them every once in a while. We were able to track them down for a couple of pictures before the sun set.

Here are a couple of photos where Gracie & I stepped into the corn stalks just before leaving. When it was time to go, C & Brittany were still in the maze in total darkness without flashlights. Jim & Scott went back inside the maze to find them & about ten minutes later, all you heard were screams & laughter.

We used to do corn mazes with the kids in Nebraska! What fun.
